Quality
NEN-EN-ISO 9001:2000
The concept of quality at Rubber Resources goes hand-in-hand with its constant efforts to improve. The proof can be found in the first ISO 9001 certificate, which they were awarded in 1994 and is upgraded in 2002 to NEN-EN-ISO 9001:2000. A strategic decision was made to pursue NEN-EN-ISO 9001:2000 because the process of continuously improvement is included in this standard. The ISO system was mainly geared towards internal concerns and bottom-up in nature. Management’s desire to have a system that provides long term support for the entire organisation became even stronger thanks to the process of their internationalisation.

Besides their concern for quality in general, the organization also puts special emphasis on the quality of the environment: for the sake of their stakehoulders. They feel that their role in recycling require them to do more to protect the environment, which is in very strong contrast to rubber recycling practices elsewhere. Therefore another outcome of their “green drive” is obtaining the NEN-EN-ISO 14001:2004 environmental certificate. This confirmed Rubber Resources’ pioneering role in the rubber industry. They also maintain strict health and safety standards for their employees, test their products on various health and environmental aspects and continuously try to reduce the amount of energy and other resources used in their manufacturing process.
